Due to the very irregular shapes of the islands, one can not make perfect use of the available spaces, since most of the popular buildings take up an area of 6x6 or even 7x7 spaces. At most 15 buildings of size 6x6 fit on the main land, 13 on lush island, 13 on lava island and ?? on ivory island.

Expansions

Expanding is a primary Dragon City game mechanic. It allows the player to acquire more building space by purchasing building space, known as expansions
